Classroom News
Welcome Back to all students.

I wanted to share with you the music lessons and activities students are working on this quarter in music.

All classes will work on ice breakers and getting to know each other as well as how the music classroom special works.

The upper grade students 6-8th gr. will be doing some reviewing of music concepts from last year.  They will complete some pre-testing on these concepts. The students will also work in small groups and create a musical song using elements we discussed in the classroom.  Once completed, he students will have the opportunity to perform the composition.
Students are free to be a creative as they want.  There will be a rubric they must follow, but can add as much to the rubric as they chose. They can write for multiple instruments and voice.  I will give many examples to help them.

K-5 grades will be spending this quarter reviewing music concepts from last year and then expanding these concepts with new lessons and activities.  The main focus will be rhythms: performing, listening, visual  and movement activities using them.
These lessons will vary and differentiate from grade to grade.

All lessons will align with the Arizona State Standards of music.

THERE WILL BE NO MUSIC SPECIAL AREA CLASS UNTIL 3RD QUARTER AND WILL CONTINUE UNTIL THE END OF SCHOOL.
